Joboshare DVD Audio Ripper definitely has a misleading name. I would have never expected that a program with such name could actually extract not only audio but also video from DVD discs. In fact, the range of output formats is rather wide.
This application can process batches of DVD chapters simultaneously, which you can pick after selecting a source. Not only discs are supported but IFO files and DVD folders as well. It is too bad it does not support ripping from ISO files, a popular way to store DVD contents. In addition, you can preview the clips and choose complementary information such as an audio track, an angle and subtitles. If you are concerned about watching your films on devices not supporting external subtitle files, you should not worry about that, because the subtitles will be embedded onto the video. Basic editing actions are also available. Thus, you are allowed to select the segment you wish to convert from each chapter or split the output files according to the available storage capacity.
Several built-in conversion profiles are available and they are grouped into classes to help you find the intended output format more easily. However, if none of these profiles meets your needs, you can always create your own and save them for later use.
In general, my main objection to this program is related to its name. It seems to me that the same product is being sold with just a few changes. That could explain the incoherence between name and function.
